Sandaikosha, Old Schools

In our village, there are 3 old schools which were named after  Japanese eras, such as Meji(1868-1912), Taisho(1912-1926) and Showa(1926-1989), according to the period in which they were established. Each of them were influenced by the styles of buildings of their age. In particular, Tosho, the oldest one has a unique atmosphere which combines Japanese and Western cultures. They no longer function as schools however there are a few restaurants in the school buildings and the sites are sometimes used as venues for the events. Many cherry trees surround the school and beautifully transform the field  in mid April every year.      – 10 minutes on foot from Nakaya
